Wednesday 1st.

Lennoxtown was cold and the wind got up. The snow came in flurries getting heavier and heavier. I lit their little stove and the flames curled against the glass, and heat began to fill the rooms. Again, plans had to be cancelled, and Catriona came home early from work. None the less, we attempted the road to Millport and were somewhat surprised to arrive at the ferry without difficulty. The shop was bitterly cold, but with Craig’s assistance, it didn’t take long to put the Nativity scene in the window while Bill taught the Gaelic class, small though it was as only two people were prepared to brave the cold to come along. We went to Craig’s for supper – pasta and delicious chocolate brownies with ice cream. We have many legacies from our time in the shop which we value – Craig’s friendship is one of these, as is Mary Carolyn’s, whom we visit so soon now in Charlottesville USA.
